This monthly tour will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month (except for
June when it will be the 4th Sunday, June 22 - to avoid Father's
Day), with a
rotating schedule of gardens. Each garden will be open for one hour,
so the homeowner can go visit the other gardens. There is no charge
for this garden tour. Join us for one garden or all of them.

Genesee Street (Michael Warren Thomas) 1pm - Clara Barton School #2, 190 Reynolds Street between Corn Hill & the 19th Ward (Jan McDonald, Executive Director of Rochester Roots) In 2006, we expanded our gardens to include a one-acre parcel of land on the grounds of School #2. This parcel provides a majority of the produce used for distribution and marketing. Over 40 varieties of vegetables are grown here. In the courtyard of the school there are raised beds and an herb garden. The entrance to the school is landscaped with flowers. (Marcene Lloyd) Marcene has been growing edible things for years and
loves experimenting with new ideas. Her favorite book is Rodale's
1001 Ingenious Gardening Ideas. Her gardens grow under 60' Black
Walnut trees, with some things in containers. 3pm - Foraging in Genesee Valley Park (and Poison Ivy ID).Meet at parking lot for the skating rink and pool off Elmwood Avenue just west of the river. Look for my wide brimmed straw hat and tan Toyota Sienna. Free plants as well, left over from the 19th Ward Square Fair. Mapquest link
