10:00-10:55 am - Clara Barton School #2, 190 Reynolds Street.  Meet at corner of Reynolds St. & Frost Ave. in the garden (Jan McDonald, Executive Director of Rochester Roots) www.RochesterRoots.org
In 2006, they expanded the gardens to include a one-acre parcel of land on the grounds of School #2. This parcel provides a majority of the produce used for distribution and marketing. Over 40 varieties of vegetables are grown here. In the courtyard of the school there are raised beds and an herb garden. The entrance to the school is landscaped with flowers. Mapquest Link

11:00-11:55 am - 51 Raeburn Avenue, between Thurston & Genesee Park Blvd.  (Marcene Lloyd)  Marcene has been growing edible things for years and loves experimenting with new ideas.  Her favorite book is Rodale's 1001 Ingenious Gardening Ideas.  Her gardens grow under 60' Black Walnut trees, with some things in containers.

12noon – Suggested lunch destinations: El Latino, Unkl Moe’s, French Quarter Café, Holley’s Café, Boulder Coffee (lunch is on your own, not included in this free tour). If you bring your lunch or get take out, bring it to Genesee Valley Park for a beautiful picnic location, and then join the foraging group below.

12:30-12:50 pm - Foraging in Genesee Valley Park (and Poison Ivy ID).  Meet at parking lot for the skating rink and pool off Elmwood Avenue just west of the river.  Look for my wide brimmed straw hat and tan Toyota Sienna.  Mapquest link

1:00-1:55 pm - 19 Trafalgar Street, directly behind Wilson Magnet School on Genesee Street (Michael Warren Thomas)
Michael's family has 50 edible plant species, which doesn't include 30 heirloom tomatoes that are grown on his flat roof.  There is a pond with singing toads, grapevines, apple trees and much more.  Don't miss the three varieties of chickens that will soon start producing eggs.

3:00-3:55 pm - Children's School of Rochester - School #15, 494 Averill Street (at corner of Pearl).  The beginning stages of an educational & edible school garden, emphasizing low maintenance.

4:00-5:00 pm - The Little Bakery, 89 Charlotte Street behind Restaurant 2 Vine.  See the edible flower garden and taste a variety of edible flowers.  This is also the biggest Hollyhock garden in Rochester!   www.TheLittleBakery.com
